Sad....

This property seems to be owned. Work was being done, on the main house. Now it's stopped, and the carriage house {seen above} seems forgotten. So sad...

Mmmm, what's going on here?

Original built in 1773

In 1773, a crude log cabin was built on this site.
.
In 1774, it was improved and began operating as an Inn.
.
In 1787, a blacksmith shop was erected.
.
In 1825, a stone house was built around the original.
.
In 1925, a brick addition was added to the stone structure and it became a hand laundry.
.
In 1954, it was changed to a house, in which a family lived until...
'
In 1979, it was again restored to the form of an Inn, in that it was/is used as a Restaurant.
.
The the stone walls are approximately 18" thick.
.

.

Smaller fireplaces are in the main dining room.
.

.

The larger fireplace is in the tavern/bar area. The main supports on the lower level are hand hewn logs that date back to the time of construction. Note one, beside the fireplace, with some sort of a ring imbedded in it...

*Ruins*???

I noticed something, to the left of the old steps. It almost looks like the remnants of a building foundation. But I have no idea, what it was... Maybe I'll investigate this further...
.

.
Update:

Asked a knowledgeable person, and was told that this bit of foundation is all that's left of a row of tentment houses. They ran appox. 100 yards, along that street. Were demolished somehow, and never rebuilt.

Issue solved!
