Are you ready???

Are you ready for New Year's Eve???

If you aren't yet stocked up with enough *bubbly,* I'm sure there is more.
Waiting to be bought and brought home and chilled.

How ever you celebrate, or even if you don't celebrate New Year's Eve....
I wish all of you a Happy and Healthy New Year of 2008!

Meet "Lucy"

This is "Lucy," a neighbor family's dog. Isn't she the cutest thing? That strap you see, is the strap to my camera, when she was coming up for an "up-close-and-personal" visit. ,-) Not a good capture, I know. But I just had to shooooooooooooot. :-)
.

My husband got her to mostly stop. But she is just soooooo happy to see everyone! I must learn how to do the-shutter-speed-thing, to get more pics of "Lucy." :-)

Snowy morning, in Park

Please click on photo, to enlarge

Perhaps you remember my photo of a pond in Autumn? This above, is approximately the same view.

I say 'approximately' because when I took the Autumn view, I could walk over from the path, on to the grass, and avoid that pole I guess.... But I wasn't going to trudge over in the snow. We did lots of trudging through snow, to get other shots, though. Which will be coming...

And it was not done in black and white. You can see the bricks of the Casino, showing pale through the falling snow. I simply took the picture, while experimenting with the 'snow setting' on the new camera. {Ohhhh sigh! I have so much to learn, about the new camera!}

A visit to 'Roma's'

A visit to "Roma's Groceries and Deli," at 222 Washington St.,
Saratoga Springs, NY.

Lots of delicious foods... For everyday... And for a celebration.

"For Sale"

It's for sale. Click on picture and enlarge. The [green and white] 'For Sale' sign in the lower left corner, will be more visible.

The selling-of-houses market is depressed at present. Might get a 'good buy.' But wonder who could afford to heat/cool and pay for the general upkeep of a place like this?!?!?!?

Happy....

Happy Christmas Season to all who celebrate it.

I'm going to be honest here and admit, I can not be sure to put up a daily photo, for a few days. If it works out, I will. If not, I will not stress over it. And I hope this will be OK.

Busy, busy time of year...

Christmas Holiday Time...

You who celebrate, at this time, know that it gets busy. I try not to give in to all the rush. But no matter how hard we try, there are always more things going on and more things to do, at this Season.

My point is ~~ I have less time to be on my computer, now. And it will be like this, for a week or so. I will keep up my daily photo here. But will not be able to be faithful about visiting and commenting in other blogs. This makes me sad. But I hope you will understand. Please and thank you, for understanding.

And a very Happy Holiday Season to all who celebrate at this time!

Old Church, saved...

~~~~
I love the looks of this old church. {another day, I'll get better pictures, because this pic doesn't show it's size} Beautiful gray stone.
~~~~
So naturally, I was so happy that when it was no longer used as a church, it was purchased and turned into apartments. Or perhaps today's term is ~ turned into 'condos.' Which are more owned, than rented.
~~~~
All I care is that this beautiful building was saved from ruin, and is still in good use.
Florist And Antiques
A combination Florist and Antiques shop.
~~~~~~~~
Salty
, I tried cropping the angel more, as you 'wondered'. :-) But I'd need some sort of Photo-Shop-thing, to *mush-out* the not-fitting-stuff. But I don't like the Photo-Shop-thing. :-)

A tree in a tower...

Please look up at the lower part of the tower. See the window? See what is in it?

This is a closer look at the lower window in the tower.
Do you see the Christmas tree?
If you click on the photos, they will enlarge.

New, but neat door...

~~~~~~
New building, and new door way. Not the usual old architecture I usually show. But I love the look of these doors, all year round. And especially so, at Holiday Time.
'Closed for the season'...
Not all places stay open year round. This is a lovely old Victorian Hotel on Broadway. Only open in the summer months. You can see pics of inside, by clicking here, and here, and here, and here and here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Btw, decorations like these are not done by the home owners themselves. They hire people to come and do all that stuff! I know, I saw the wreaths being placed there, by some men who had come in a truck. All this Fancy Decorating for rich people, is a business in itself.

A decorated house...

Please click on pic, for larger view

These are night shots of the house, with lots of Halloween decorations. Since Christmas ones have many, many little white lights around the yard, I can't capture them properly. So you will have to "just believe" that it's quite a magical display, at night in person.

The Theme is mandatory???

I'm adding this entry, because someone asked if I had a bridge in my Dec. 1 photo. Of course, I do not. In fact, I've never done 1st of the month Theme Photo. Didn't even know what they were, until recently.

I thought that my blog was not added to the list of those who are posting First of the Month Theme Photos, unless I added it. But I checked and see that.... yes, my blog is there. So now I know. The First of the Month Theme is mandatory. Here is very tiny bridge.
