The "Pink Sheet"
The "Pink Sheet" is a special edition of the local newspaper, containing a section, printed on pink paper... Containing everything you want to know about the races of the day.
Young people gather in photo above, to get their papers to sell and to be assigned where to sell them. What spots around the entrances to the thoroughbred track.
This was taken from a moving car, so it's not very clear. But you can still see the bright pink t-shirts/caps they wear. One of our granddaughters is selling it, again this year. About 4 hours of sell, sell, sell! In any/all weather. Sunny... like the day I took this pic. And heavy rain, rain, rain ... like too many days, last week.

Hanging plants...
Vines and hanging plants decorate an old building on Church Street, in summer. Both on the fire escape, and in window boxes...

Old brick sidewalks...
And the old bricks no longer lie perfectly flat...
This old one tends to dip down, in the middle of this narrower stretch.
And grass will grow between the bricks. All of which, adds character... :-)
But sadly, people today are pulling up the original forms of sidewalks, along this stretch of N. Broadway. Replacing them with slabs of concrete. Probably safer to walk on. But, just not the same. Just not as.... "pretty."

Views, seen through..........
Window details, seen through a fence...
Entryway, though fence... This house is said to have been rented by {click-->} Lillian Russell when she came to Saratoga Spgs. in the High Season of August, at the turn of the century.

For Sale
Many years have come and gone since then. And many owners also. At one time, it was used for a fund raiser for something in town. And different designers decorated different rooms in the house. I went on the tour, of course. It's a way to get inside these beautiful old homes. Tours such as this, and estate sales.
Oh and having friends who sell Real Estate, who arrange to take you through, when a house is for sale. ,-) No, that hasn't happened in a while, though...

Winding path... Part II
Is this the final look? Time will tell.
I now realize that I didn't show, where the path 'comes out.' Sorry. There is a small gate, to the right of this pic. Will have to get a better shot...
What I'm confused about is..... The macadam parking place, just inside where the old drive way used to be. {It looks like a parking place to me...} I had thought that this was to be just that, a parking place. But now, it looks like there is no way to open the fence there. So how could any vehicle be driven in and parked there? Hmmmm...

In the good old Summer time...
I admit that I've been remiss in getting summer-time pictures, so far this year. But I'm wanting to show something beside Hot Dog stands and "boo-boo's." :-) Soooooooooo...

Lilies and a "boo-boo"...
A "hedge" of Lilies, down the alley...
And the "boo-boo" I got, while trying to take the above picture.
Silly me, I was backing up to get a good shot, and stepped in a low spot and... went "head over tea-kettle," as the saying goes. Landed on my elbow, as you can see.
Oh what we do for our photography! >,-))))
