Ever see snow 'curl'?

See the snow/ice hanging off the porch roof, above?

Here is a more close-up of it.

But even in this photo, I don't think it shows the way the snow 'curls' under, as it slips off the roof. This only happens for just so long, and the temperatures have to stay cold enough, so it won't fully melt. But warm a bit, so it will melt-slip a bit, off the roof. And 'curl' under a bit.

To really show it, I'd have had to trespass on this property and take a photo, from the side view. And I really didn't want to do that. :-)

Finally... Caught snow...

I think I finally photographed snow!

Both early big flakes, on top. And later, a heavy snowfall of smaller flakes.

It is simply an Ice Covered World out here. Ice on trees, bushes, driveways, walk ways, streets, roads, etc., etc. Not a morning to wander about, unless very necessary.

There will be no dawn moon, to be seen tomorrow morning. We are expecting 5" to 10" of snow tonight. And ice on top of that, tomorrow. No clear skies tomorrow morning.

Still here... At sunset...

Back, at my usual posting time. With today's sunset.

We kept power and the snow came and went, through the day. With warmer temps and sunlight in between. Luckily, the warmer temps melted snow/ice on power lines. Extremely lucky, because the winds have picked up and it is now 21 degrees F. 32 degrees F. is freezing, so you can see that it is colddddddddddddddd. Plus wind chill factor.

Oh I know, this is "nothing," compared to the winter weather in some areas. But it's way too cold for me to venture far now. :-) So I'm staying in and staying warm.

This is an old photo, of family drug store, hanging in store.

We are having lots of snow and now some wind. Had a slight power failure, a few minutes ago. If I'm still able to be on line, I'll be back with more snow pics, later. :-)

Nearly free!

Seems as if the icicle melted enough, to slip off the hook, on which it had formed. But could not free itself from the wire, which is also attached to the hook.

And since the top part of the icicle, is heavier than the bottom, it' s now hanging sort of up-side-down.

Pretty weird looking... ,-)

The other day, Eric posted a tv screen capture. So I take the liberty of doing the same. :-) He was not invited to 'the wedding,' and I was not in attendance at the Super Bowl.

But Eli Manning and the New York Giants won!!! As I so hoped they would. They were not the favorite. And they had to beat an amazing team, in the New England Patriots.
But win they did!

Sorry to seem silly, over a game. But it's not just 'the game,' to me. It's seeing the youngest {Eli Manning}, of a football dynasty family, come into his own.

Above is a mosaic of scenes from a grocery store this morning...

Yes, it's "Super Bowl XLII"! ,-) "Super Bowl Sunday"!
Reason to get friends/family together for a party.
Have chips n' dips, beer, soda, all sorts of snacks to munch on. And in the top row of the mosaic is what I was told is supposed to be a Super Bowl cake in the form of goal posts. ,-)

Friday... Sky... Tree

I think that Friday is a Sky Photo Theme Day in some places. And I see them posted here in CPDB. So I post an old tree, against a sky at sunset.

I broke my glasses frames again, this morning. I made an entry about this, over on my regular blog, so would you please go there and read it. That will save me having to type it over again, here. 'Cause I'm not comfortable with my glasses, like this.

Did I? Did I? Did I?!?

Did I capture 'sparkles'? On the snow...?

The sun is shining on newly fallen snow. I was trying for a follow up to the tracks entry. Since the tracks had been covered, this morning, by some snow showers.

But when I downloaded the photos, instead of just plain new snow covering, it looked like I could see 'sparkles' on the surface. And so I kept cropping and cropping and they seem to show up more. I am sooooooooooooo excited! You can't believe how excited I am! Wow! Did I capture sunlight, sparkling on freshly fallen snow cover?????

Passageway...

Just a passageway at night. There are more steps, farther 'in the distance'... but the lights seem to hide them. I am standing on the store level. The steps lead up to a parking area, behind.

I know. :-( A very "blahhhhhhh" photo, compared with yesterday's flowers.
But, it is still Winter around here. I'll try for more color, again tomorrow.

This below, is the outdoor patio eating area, in Summer time.The building now houses both a restaurant and a rug store.
